Did you know that God created you?  He actually made the entire world to live with us and love us!  He told us how to live a good and happy life with him and all we had to do was listen to God’s instructions.

Where did the world go wrong?  Our problems started with us.  We wanted control and ignored God’s design.  We lied when God told us to tell the truth, stole when he told us to be generous, hated when he told us to love.  These are examples of our sin. Paul tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Even though our sin separates us from God, he still wants to share His love with us, and He makes it possible through Jesus.  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).  Because His life was pleasing to God and sinless, Jesus took our place and died the death we deserved to die.  He makes forgiveness possible so that our relationship with God can be restored.

Some think that being a good person makes God happy.  Others think they can secure their place in heaven just because they attend church, or because their families say they follow Christ. The truth that we need to understand clearly is that the only way to have a right relationship with God is by putting our trust in Jesus to heal us of the brokeness of our sin.
